Marina

We have this amazing State Park Marina in our area.  We go there a few times a year to look at the fish and pet the turtles and see the bees.  They have huge aquariums full of bass and catfish and other fish that I don't know their names.  They have a spot where you can play with water turtles.  And just for this mom's enjoyment, they have added a couple of snakes to the area.  I took Naia and Paxton there today.  We looked around and then Naia and I had a dashing game of checkers.

So much for keeping up with the blog...

I was completely busy last week! Making awesome yumminess. Like Strawberry Pepper Jelly and Peach Pepper Jelly. And then I was busy eating said yumminess......
I also made salsa last week and last night got on a wild hair and made homemade strawberry jelly instead of pepper jelly! Divine!

Zumba: Fit Kids Style

So I love to go to Zumba. My kids love to hear my talk about going to shake my booty for an hour. They think it's hilarious. It's a great workout and a lot of fun. Well this summer our gym has been having Fit Kids Classes twice a week. This past week was Zumba for the kids. Naia absolutely loved it. She is a bit sore from her workout yesterday though! She also got several compliments on her dancing skills! My baby girl can shake it! haha

Lake Fun

We headed out to the lake Friday afternoon for a couple of days of fun in the sun!

These pics pretty much sum up our trip! Tubing, watching the tubers, looking at the pretty clouds in the sky. And running from a storm within said clouds. Then crashing on the way home! We have some tired people in this family today! It was good fun though. We ate well and had a great time with my parents!

Finally Friday

So Chocolate Gravy....yeah. Never made it before. Never eaten it before. However when Xavier visits Ms. Jennifer's house she always introduces him into yummy new foods! This time it was chocolate gravy. Although mine didn't turn out as good as or the same as Ms. Jennifer's apparently, it was pretty good if I say so myself! And I get to say so because I'm the only one that ate it! haha! Here's my recipe. It pretty much made it up SO it's Dania Original!

Dania's Chocolate Gravy

4 tbsp. butter
15 Hershey's kisses
+/- 1/2 tsp. salt
3 cups milk
1 cup flour
2/3 cup sugar

Melt butter and kisses in skillet. While that is melting mix dry ingredients in small bowl. When the butter and kisses are melted remove from heat and add dry ingredients. Mix well. Add back to heat and slowly add milk. I added a cup at a time and used a whisk and stirred it until well combined between each cup. Stir occasionally until it gets as thick as you like.

That's it! It was super yummy! I made this with homemade biscuits and it tasted like a freshly dipped chocolate donut! Enjoy!

Clean House Tuesday

Today we've been cleaning house. And reading new library books. And mostly cleaning house! I love getting new books and having a time table/ due date that I have to read them by! We all needed new books to read. I'm reading a series called Montana Skies. Just finished the first book and I really liked it. It reminded me that even though I plan and plan things and pray that things always go according to MY plan, I have to remember that God's plans may not always line up with what I want or expect. And that His ways are ultimately best for me. Sometimes that's hard to remember when I don't like what life throws at me. My house has needed a good deep cleaning for a while now.....well it's getting that today. I've magic erased cabinets and door frames. I've made the kids dust and wash windows and pick up all their stuff from the living room and main house areas. Now all that's left is cleaning the hard wood floors. Probably my least favorite thing to clean....blah. At least they will shine when I'm done. At least until the kids walk across them with their dirty little feet! HA!

Summertime fun

So far this summer we've been to Branson and Dallas, but I think one of our other favorite things to do is go swimming! Just last week we swam three different times, even amidst having sickly kiddos. Ear infections and summer colds did nothing to stop this crew!
This apparently is the only picture I have of us heading off to swim! We're missing a kiddo and you can't even see the pool! Oh well!!Maybe I'll actually get some pics this week of us heading out to swim. There is a new water park close by that we are wanting to try out!! Hope you've had a great weekend!

Back to Blogging

I'm really wanting to get back into regular blogging. SO I'm hoping that doing this today will get me in the mood! Here are 5 things we've been up to lately! 1. We celebrated Paxton's 5th birthday in April. We had a Duck Dynasty Party with a 'duck' hunt and a Willie look a like.
Here's the birthday boy with his birthday mickey mouse pancakes. 2. We celebrated Naia's 9th birthday. She had a sleep over with some friends. She got a new puppy named Toby for her birthday! He is rotten and she absolutely loves him!
Here she is right before her dance recital! They were supposed to be nerdy.... 3. Paxton started and finished his first t ball season. Too funny! I was the dugout coach and had a blast with all the kids. They cracked me up every game.
4. Vacation to Branson. Spent time at Silver Dollar City. Xavier got to ride roller coasters to his hearts content! Shopped, ate well, and had a blast with just our family of 5. On the way there and back we stopped at two new hiking spots. This is the only family pic from either hike! Fun stuff!
5. Vacation to Dallas. We went to a Rangers game. The boys went to LEGOLAND and the girls went to the American Girl Doll Store. Six flags and more roller coasters than Xavier's stomach could handle! Good food. Fun with my parents and niece Kailie. No pics of this but we had a great time! Now we're just staying home and relaxing and healing. Have had two sick kiddos since we got home from Dallas last week. We've been swimming and hanging out doing a few craft projects. Will try and get pics of those up later this week!
