Well nothing has changed in the adoption world for us. Still waiting to be on the waiting list. Our kids are in Florida at Disney with my parents. It's not quite at magical as they had hoped. Lines way too long. Not getting to eat at good restaurants. But the kids love the pool and are loving the Animal Kingdom hotel. They're coming home tomorrow. I have had a nice couple of days to myself though. Tomorrow Brent and I are going to work out in the yard some. We bought a new tree to plant and some flowers to put in the front yard. I love spring. Reminds me of new beginnings. New growth.

Let's go Canoeing....

In our backyard....These pics only partially show you what our backyard looks like today after the 4-8 inches of rain that we've gotten since last night. We do have a creek in the backyard, but it's obviously overflowing and there is now a second creek in the middle of the yard instead of the very back!

Lots going on here! We've been so busy this week with cub scouts, church, working outside in the absolutely beautiful weather! Brent and I did tons of yardwork on Thursday. Today I've been at church working at the church cleanup day. Needless to say, with outage going on and Brent only having one day off each week the next month or so, we're all pretty tired.

I have the best news to share. Xavier got saved this week. It was really a precious moment for us. We have been blessed by our church family and I have to give them much credit for the awesome job they do.

I think that's about it. We're still waiting for our homestudy to be approved so we can get on the waiting list. Some friends of ours, just got a referral for their daughter from China. They get to travel in a couple of months to pick her up! So exciting for them!

It's snowing here again! So much so that school let out early! The kids are now eating cookies and drinking hot chocolate. Our roof is already covered again and the ground won't be far behind. The grocery store was a mad house. I didn't go just b/c it was snowing, I went b/c it was snowing and we were out of milk. I would have gone today regardless of the snow. Tomorrow is grocery day, but I seriously doubt I get out in the morning. If I do, it will be to go to Little Rock to Naia's ENT appt. Hopefully we won't get too stir crazy! I'm going to try and post some pics, if it doesn't work, sorry!

Snow Day

I knew we were supposed to get about 1-3 inches of snow for today. I never imagined when I got up this morning that we'd have at least a foot of snow. No school today for Xavier, which is a blessing, since he's sickly. And since Brent is in an off training week at work, he could stay home too!!! Right after breakfast we all got dressed warmly and took off to brave the snow outside. We were out there about 7:30 this morning! We walked the loonnnggg walk to try and go sledding, but the snow wasn't slick enough, so we made the loonnngggg walk back to the house. The kids were soaked by then from trudging through the snow and making snow angels, so they came back inside. Brent and I stayed outside and played! We made a snowman and had a snowball fight. Skillet even loves the snow. He won't stay out of it long enough to dry off so he's having to spend the day in the sun room with the cats.

Xavier is sickly. Not sure with what exactly. If it weren't for all the snow we'd be at the doctor. I thought he had the flu, but he's not running any fever at all. He's just achy, tired, not eating well, and just kind of puny. He keeps saying he's freezing, and is staying all bundled up but I've taken his temp a dozen times and it comes back a perfect 98.6 degrees. Maybe if the roads are cleared slightly this afternoon we can take him to the doctor.

We're still waiting for our official homestudy approval. Hopefully it will come soon, as we are really ready to be on the waiting list!
