We are struggling with our little Naiabean and her sleep again. As I lay in her bed with her last night just holding her and reassuring her, this song was in my head. I know it won't be like this forever. Even though at midnight when your child can't go to sleep, it seems like FOR-EV-ER. I was telling someone just yesterday that I know they will be gone and out of the house before I know it. I also keep thinking of Ecclesiates where it says there is a time for rest and a time for work. There is a time for everything under the sun. It was a long night, but I did get to sleep in and that made a big difference. I'm not usually grumpy in the morning but this morning after about 7 hours of sleep(not great sleep) I was a bit grumpy. God knew I needed a laugh. Paxton asked if he could change clothes in my bathroom. I told him just to hurry and I went to find some breakfast. Then I hear him "Momma. Momma, I need you." SO I go that way and expect he needs help in the bathroom. BUT instead I find him completely naked standing in my bathroom sink. Trying to wash marker off of his legs......All I could do was laugh! And I tried to take a picture to post but no matter what I did it was inappropriate!
This blog is to chronicle the life of our kids from birth and adoption into everyday occurances! We are a family on the go and I'm always yelling "Efird kids, to the car!"

Busy Bees
We went from humdrum not much going on to really busy!
Softball season for Naia is still in full swing! (haha no pun intended) She starts district tournament this week! We've had a fun year of ball. When we started I had no idea how competetive it was at this age...I now know. Wow!
There's my sweet ball player! I kept telling her softball players were mean and tough all season long. She just had a look of bewilderment on her face. "Why?" haha
Xavier also got his brown belt in karate this month. I don't have any pics of that, BUT we are super proud of him. If he keeps at karate,
in the next 3 years or so he'll be a black belt! How awesome will that be? He loves to brag and remind me of the fact that he's taller than me. When did it happen? When did my baby get so big?!
And Paxton is just as funny as ever! The big kids are away at camp this week. Last night Brent and I were sitting on the porch swing watching Paxton entertain himself. He rides his powerwheels tractor everywhere. He can be quite the daredevil on it too! Earlier he was trying to go up too steep a hill and it flipped back on him. He just got up, flipped it back over and after we put it back together a bit, he took back off! Last night he was putting one leg in the seat using the other leg to press the power pedal and he was just going crazy! He's hilarious...well at least to himself. And really to most everyone around as well! He just laughed and laughed at himself last night. Brent said he's the only person he knows that thinks he's really "that" funny! He just laughed at himself for the longest time! Sweet boy! I can't believe that he starts PreK this fall. Where has the time gone?!
This is our Easter picture. I love it. My sweet little family!

Big Ol Nothing
Want to know what we've been up to? Nothing. School, classes, home, church. That's it. We've had two softball practices for Naiabean, and I know that the season will pick up soon! We'll be very busy starting next week. Spring break was this week. It's rained every day. We had plans to go to a park and have a picnic three days. We didn't get to go to a single park. We are however going to go see the Lorax tomorrow and hopefully that will be a little bit of fun! As a matter of fact, it's still raining here. Hard. I can hear it over my movie! I'm finally getting around to watching Water for Elephants. I'm really liking it so far. Never seen anything with Rob Patterson. Once I got over that he's not a vampire in real life or in every movie, I like him. And of course I love Reese Witherspoon. She's amazing. So that's it. We're plugging through the end of the school year. Heading head first into summer!

Crafting
I have been crafting away lately! I have no pictures to show you, BUT if you look on my pinterest page you'll see some things I've made.
Had a group of ladies over last week and we made scarves out of old t shirts. They were all too cute! There were 5 of us here. Everyone made a different scarf. We had yummy 2x4 Soup and cornbread for lunch! It was a super day.
Also made two wreaths this week. I have an opportunity to start to sell a few of the things that I'm making so I've had to be on the ball this week.
AND tonight I finally got a new shower curtain made for our hall bathroom that is also Paxton's bathroom. It now looks way more kid friendly but not a kiddie bathroom. Our guests also have to use this bathroom so I didn't want to just be a kid bathroom. I took a plain black shower curtain from Target and sewed on a valance in some material that I loved and sewed a smaller border across the bottom in coordinating material. Love it! And of course, I have no pics! haha
BUT I will share the Soup recipe with you. It's delicious!
Geraldene's 2x4 Soup
2 cans rotel
2 cans kidney beans
2 cans ranch style beans with or without jalepenos
2 cans minestrone soup
1/2 block velveeta cheese
1 lb. ground meat ( I used deer meat this time I made it, but I'm sure you could use ground turkey and certainly beef)
Brown the ground meat and drain. Add to a big pot. Add everything else and simmer for 30 minutes or until the cheese is melted.
And that's it! Serve it with cornbread. It's amazing! Hope you make it and LOVE it! Let me know!!

Christmas Weenie Wreath

Want a FUN & FUNNY finger food?? This is so easy to make and it's really cute.
Ingredients:
1 can crescent rolls
1 package mini smoked sausages
1 red bell pepper
Preheat oven according to crescent roll directions. Open crescent rolls and cut each triangle into three strips. This will give you 24 mini pigs in a blanket. Wrap the mini sausages in the strips. Arrange in a circle like a wreath, cook about 15-16 minutes. Cut a bow out of the red bell pepper and place on top of the wreath for embellishment! Too cute!!
