Hey Bidder Bidder

Yesterday Brent and I hit up an estate auction in town. We came home with this bunch of lovelies! A few flower arrangements that I got mainly got for their containers. A cute end table that I'm going to repaint and use in our sun room. And some records for our sunroom as well. We decided that we're going to put a record player in there! Going to be so fun!

And this is my favorite. A silver claw footed punch bowl.  It came with 12 punch cups and two silver handled ladles as well.  Can't wait to use it! And I got it for a steal which made it all the better. 

Back to School

Big girl 4th grader! She is loving school so much already! Every day she says it is so much fun!

7th grader.  We tried to be creative for a friend on facebook, so we planked on the mail box!

Last Shebang of the summer

Today the kiddos and I went to Conway while Brent was home sleeping.  We started early on buying blue jeans at Old Navy and stopped by a favorite consignment resale shop.  Then we headed to the movies to see Planes.  disclaimer to parents: I would not spend the money to see this in the theater. It's cute, but not theater money worthy! Here's my crew before the movie. The poser, the swift, and the I hate taking pictures in public places.......

Meet the Teachers

Yesterday we went to meet Naia's and Paxton's teachers for the year! They were both so excited!  Toby Mac wishes he could go along, but I think he'll stay home to keep me company! School starts Monday and while this momma may be just a tad sad that my baby is starting kindergarten, I will be glad for the routine of it all!

Water Park Fun

 Yesterday we ventured out with our children's department at church for a long day at a local water park!  This is Paxton and a buddy of his warming up and drying off!

 Naia and her friend atop the rock wall.  This is really neat. When you got to the top you could either climb back down or just jump down into the water about 6 feet below!

Xavier acting all cool playing basketball with the other older kids! This was their last activity with the children's department before they move into youth group in a couple of weeks.

And this is Mr. Brent chugging from the bottle after a long unexpected day at the water park.  We love us some sparkling grape juice in this house!

2nd Brown Belt in the house

This past Saturday Xavier had testing for his first black stripe on his brown belt in karate.  Two more black stripes and he'll be a black belt.  Very exciting for this boy!

This is him after working on his kata's.  He had to be able to do every kata he has learned in the past 6 years! And just for fun they made him do the nine step which is the very first thing they learn!

Working with Mr. Bobby. I really liked the way that he explained everything to Xavier before doing it. Here he is telling Xavier exactly how to defend himself in the situation coming up.

This is Xavier and Mr. Kyle. His regular instructor.  Xavier is almost as big as Mr. Kyle so he didn't take it too easy on him!

Xavier did great!  Mr. Kyle goes to church with us, so he was having a bit of fun with Xavier. If you look closely he's trying to laugh at something!

Tuesday Total Randomness

Paxton and I made apple cake yesterday. It is delicious! Love the gooey honey glaze over the top!

We found out who the kids' teachers are this year! We are very pleased! Naia even has her best friend in her class! She's super excited!

And I know you can't really tell from this pic, but when did Naia become a teenager?!  This Sunday she wore a cute little dress with cowboy boots and a jean jacket.  She was a mini me.  In this picture we're at a baby shower and she's holding sweet Andrew.  She's such a sweet girl.  I know she sometimes gets a bad rap b/c of her nighttime behavior, but she really is so sweet and caring. 

AR Travs

This past Friday night we went to an AR Travelers game.  We love to go about once or twice a year.  Great family fun!

 

After the game the kids can run the bases.  We dropped the kids off in the run line and headed over to the 3rd base line for pick up. Somewhere along the way Paxton decided he didn't want to run the bases but it was too late.......SO Big Brother Xavier had to run while carrying him all around the bases!  When he got to me he was just boo hooing. Poor baby!

We went with Brent's brother and his family. This is Naia's bestie and cousin Karter! Sharing a snocone!

Before the game we got autographs. Of these two players. We don't know who they are! haha

The first 1000 fans got free thunder sticks upon entry! Our kids are still playing with theirs! This is Naia and Karter waiting for autographs!

That pretty much sums up our weekend.  It's stormy and rainy here tonight so we're just having a night  in!

Lazy Days of Summer
